I remember years ago The Newcastle Herald ran a similar front page open letter to Andrew Johns. Some pommy team wanted to poach him.
What is it with open letters to footballers on the front pages of the papers?

It all started when Barrassi left The Demons for the bloody kangaroos, and has been downhill ever since.
