The First Test passed in the blink of an eye, but the advantage of an Indian tour is that the MCG is all but guaranteed a live Test. Not sure how India will shape up without their best batsman, one of their fast bowlers and coming off their lowest ever score, but in Bumrah and Ashwin they have the ability to get among our less-than stellar top six.
first again.
I predict the Indians are shot ducks after Adelaide and no Kholi.
you do know he eats Kholiflower and drinks Coca Kholi

good to see Burns change in form from Adelaide persisted

great shot by Wade although no other Indian fieldsman would have taken that.
He clearly called it and showed it by his hand so what was the other Indian fieldsman thinking of

I would yet again thank all my friends being here

for the first time in a long time the MCG pitch looks like a test pitch.
not as good as the one being used in NZ

Not in favour of using DRS for LBWs and THAT review simply reinforces it. It allegedly was going over the stumps.
As in many I simply do not believe technology got it right. Just like Lyons to Stokes

siraj has starc problems. His left foot points to the keeper not fine leg so he is too open when he bowls. much harder to bowl an outswinger and loses pace.
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 01:33 PM
Aussies are poor to fast medium bouncers. Just imagine what would occur if the Indian who can bowl over 150k was here
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 02:28 PM
NO evidence the bat was past the line when stumps are broken

Indians are taking their chances today

little A has his feet to wide apart so footwork is off and his head is rarely over the ball.
The Big A is bowling slower and using swerve well.
Gill reminds me off VVS

I'll just leave this here, shall I:

Good to see my prediction going well.
Can we not allow DRS to be used for LBWs when it is patently crap when it is used
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 10:52 AM
no footwork and wella.
some-one tell ally batters are in baseball, there are only batsmen in cricket
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 11:24 AM
two opening bats for India have footwork problems.
the big A is simply not the batsman from the last tour. his feet are too wide apart and backlift too high for an opener.
Gill for some reason does not move his feet to a ball outside the off stump.
Meanwhile little L has more luck than anyone I have seen bar Border when batting.
Can anyone help me.
Is the 150k bowler in the squad. The Aussies showed at Lords they are poor again pace. That Indian wouls have loved this pitch.
Have to laugh that the commentators talk about the Aussie pace even when in the mid 130s. I never heard them speak of Yadav bowlinbg fast when he was close or actually bowling mid 140s

I afraid Ponting is wrong about Starc.
He cannot consistently swing the ball. Thus he cuts or angles the ball away from the RHB and sometimes swing it in.
This is nowhere as dangerous as bowling inswingers and cutting the occasional ball.
Ask Alan Davidson.
The other thing as I have pointed out time and time again is he does not bowl as fast as he could

Just a thing on pace.
Larwood always reckoned he was faster then either Gregory or McDonald in 1921 although both were over 30.
Larwood himself was estimated to bowl at mid 2140s in the bodyline series.
Then we have Lindwall. Malcolm Knox says his pace was in the mif130s in 1948. Trevor Bailey who faced him thought his pace was similar to Hall ie about 90 mph.
Of bowlers I have seen Thommo was quite easily the fastest however Lillee was next although this was 1971 not 1975.
Of the West Indies bowlers Holding was the quickest followed by Roberts

Yes, Navdeep Saini. Not sure he is a 150 bowler though. Probably high 140s. But Siraj was preferred because he has more control and a much better record.

Thanks a lot. This is the bloke Kholi too the windies with this series in mind.

Just a thought on the slow over rates.
All they have to bowl is 15 overs a hour. This should be a doddle but they cannot do this.
In both grade and shires teams have to get through overs faster than this.
From viewing I put a lot of the blame on the batsmen. I always say something like ?Batsman if the bowler is ready to bowl you HAVE to be ready to bat. The umpires have to do something. I never allow batsmen to talk to each other during an over unless the ball is still to be found.

two things.
I want to again congratulate the people associated with the pitch. When ball dominates bat you get much more enthralling cricket.
bowling short balls takes a lot out of a bowler both physical and mental. how come no commentator understands this

I like it that a century becomes a rarity and only comes around because of luck and skill.
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:30 AM
The bouncer is rarely a wicket taking ball although some do take wickets in test cricket. It is bowled so the batsman goes onto the backfoot.
If you then bowl a full length ball the batsman's head is not over the ball nor is his feet in the right position so you take a wicket.
Starc to me looks as though he is bowling with a back problem. His run up is poor and h e is quite open when he bowls.
He rarely bowls an inswinger so a batsman simply bats with a two eyed stance

Hey tonee,
do I get paid by comments?
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:32 AM
A right hand bowler bowling over the wicket to a RHB can obly get an LBW if he can bring the ball back.
siraj was patently not doing that

smith is in the horrors. Bring back Mitchell Marsh (sarc)

Pretty poor batting. Two dismissals I would usually see in the U/12s and what was Head thinking of??

Head's gawn.

agreed

and there was thinking bum bum ( get it) was wasting the new ball.
Fellas bowl a good length and let the ball swing. the wickets will come

If the ball is not keeping low then why would a batsman bat outside the crease?
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 12:09 PM
and India is one bowler down. Not as bad as Sri Lanka but shows up our batsmen
Posted by: I am Not trampis | Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 12:29 PM
big A dreadfully out of form. Maybe batting Sharma might replace him. Put in Pandya as the other bowler and that adds to batting.
The problem is you are aiming for a draw

India were always shot ducks!!
Fitting that Rahane hit the winning run.
MUST be MOM.
