Fucken Demons. I usually have no interest in the finals when the Demons are not playing. This year I have absolutely no interest. Anyway, cricket...

Last time we replaced a no.3 with an all-rounder? Beats me. Still Ussie wont do any more damage to his reputation of being able to bat well at the Gabba. Second best keeper keeps his job. Lets hope its his last test, and that he takes everything that comes his way.

A lineup featuring four batsmen, a bunch of all-rounders, and whatever we're now calling Matthew Wade, does little to inspire.

Is there a book on when Cummins gets injured and has to retire from this test?
Also, an over/under for Wade's byes?

Wade will concede byes both over his gloves and under his gloves.

Lovin' Lippy's work these days.

Hopefully O'Keefe and Agar gel in the dressing room. Couldnt resist.

Lots of talk about dropping Wade before the match. Glad sanity prevailed there. A subcontinental Test with the series on the line is no time to go in with a part-timer. Not sure what Cartwright's doing there if he's not bowling, though.
It's good that the rain has held off. The forecast was, and is, diabolical.

Ah. That's why Cartwright hasn't been bowling.

We have developed a disturbing inability to crash through opposition batting line-ups.

Few false shots/half chances flying around here. We could have taken a wicket or two on another day.

Honours even. Good day's play. Bangladesh completely unrecognisable from the side of even a few years ago. Good to see.

Bangas all out for 305.
Prediction: OZ will battle to avoid the follow on.

Follow ons don't matter anymore. And the Bangles won't want to risk batting last.

One world class subcontinent batsman in our team. He is out. Lets see the lesser men do some standing on their own two feet. And well done Lippy. He really does not get what he deserves in terms of press praise. Into 7th position on the table, the only off spinner in the top 7.

Uncharacteristic innings from Warner so far. Has he ever batted so slowly? I didn't see a lot of it - a bit of the middle session - but 88 of 170 tells its own story. It's probably exactly what we needed though, and it'd be great if he could do it more often. There's a time for smash and grab, and there's a time to play proper a innings.

"Lets see the lesser batsmen stand on their own two feet". All we had to do was ask!

40 behind and 4 down. A good start.

Good win by us.

A good series, too - as much as you can call two Tests a "series". Hopefully we'll play a few more next time, and that next time will be sooner than twelve years.

Off topic but well done to Jimmy Anderson - 501 wickets. I think he will pass ooh aah. Doesnt make him a better bowler, the averages sort that out. But its a testament to fitness and determination. A great effort.

Have Australia finally worked out how to play the media?
