Let's not beat about the stunted flora: Sri Lanka is a pissweak Test team, and yet they are belting us.

I pretty much checked out of this series a long time ago. I've been following England-Pakistan avidly, and to a lesser extent West Indies-India. If results go the right way with all the cricket that's being played at the moment, Pakistan could be crowned the number 1 Test side. After all they've been through, I would genuinely prefer us to lose this match and have Pakistan achieve that - it would be such an amazing thing for them and for world cricket.

Another nobody from nowhere scores his first Test ton against us, and goes on with it as well. We're making men out of kids.

Voges' average under 80 now. Drop the lazy sod.

there seems a global inability to take wickets after the ball is more than 30 overs old. Or is it that Starc is so good with the new ball that it just looks ordinary after 30 overs. Sri lankan spinners excepted.

The Shrees can bat to the Luncheon Adjournment and still have time to roll us in two sessions.

Have caught up with some of this via Foxtel -- I'm assuming they've loosened a few cables of the sports channels to disrupt Channel 7's Olympics.
I loved one expert comment on nine.msn website, saying that Steve Smith had figured out how to win the 3rd test -- I would have hoped the coach would already have explained this -- take more wickets and score more runs.
Sri Lanka has outplayed Australia. Australia's attempts to outspin the spinning experts has been shown to be faulty. A couple of quicks wth supplementary spin was a better option, because the Sri Lankans have batted against good spinners forever.
Credit where credit is due, to avoid accusations of racisms, there has been a lot of genuine straight-arm bowling, too, from Sri Lanka. No reliance on optical illusions.

*racism not racisms.

Chucking is one of the fvew things I've had a good look at in this series, or rather, absence of chucking. We've been done in by dead set proper spin bowling. It's been great to watch from a technician's perspective.

Australian cricket overseas is an utter embarrassment.

Given the low number of posts over the three tests, looks like we have all turned a blind eye to this series on the expectation that what happened was unfortunately what we all thought would happen.
Given the Pakis play all tests away from home, they should clearly be number 1 in the rankings.

The worst series batting performance since the WSC schism.
Average of per wicket of 19.5.
Sri Lanka wasn't that great at 27, but that is still an 80 run differential per innings which is a very handy win.

Interesting way of looking at it, Bruce, and summarises the result neatly.
Now Lehmann is saying the players need to have a look at themselves.

Was it really worse than the Pakistan Debacle of 2014? I thought that would take some beating.

At least the Pakistans are pretty good. The Shrees are about 7 players shy of a good Test side.

Can't even spell least. Shut me down!

On that basis Tony we are about 9 short of a good test side.

Naturally, the Aussies are talking about how good they are going based on having flogged the Shrees in a F50.

Big Davey posts a classic test innings - head down, sees it through - in a dead rubber 50 over game. At least he did it once on tour.

We now 'own' the 5 greatest ODI run chases GIVEN UP.
No Starc, Hazelwood and Faulkner mean a who's who (i.e. who the hell are they) bowling 'attack' is made up of Tremain & Worrall. Where are they from? Don't forget Mennie. Cricket Australia are 'taking the piss' and I guess if no one on the eastern seaboard can see it then it didn't really happen! Cricket South Africa should ask for a discount.

Sorry. We have only given up the top 4 chases BUT we've given up 6 of the top 7 AND 8 of the top 10!
