Rauf Mauf has been dropped by the ICC because he is being investigated over spot fixing. David Warner? "Bit rich CHAMP!!"
ICC cuts Pakistani umpire from tournament
Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf has been withdrawn from next month's Champions Trophy tournament in England amid media reports he is under Indian police investigation for spot-fixing, the ICC said on Thursday.
The ICC said the decision was made after media reports on Wednesday ''that the Mumbai police are conducting an investigation'' into Rauf's activities. ''... we feel that it is in Asad's best interests as well as those of the sport and the event itself, that he is withdrawn from participating in the Champions Trophy.''
Spot fixing by an ump, eh. I wonder what it is. Whether he puts the bowler's sunnies on upside down on the back of his hat, or right way up? Whether he scratches his arse after the third ball or the fourth? The people who bet on such things must be the dumbest motherlovers on the planet.

Those things, while possible on this dumb motherloving orb, would be a bit obvious. It would have to be things that don't automatically send out alarm signals. Things that would be an adjunct to the players' misdeeds. Things that I can't think of at the moment.

I can definitely see how an umpire could get involved in spot-fixing. It's no use bowling a no-ball on the third ball of the second over if the umpire misses it. Making sure that the umpire's aware that it's going to happen is a pretty sure-fire insurance policy.

Yes, that's what I meant by "adjunct to the players misdeeds". And umpire pulling strokes by himself would be easy to spot, whereas if he was in cahoots with the players he could get up to all sorts of miss cheef.

Stop the presses! Doctor Who is racist!
Amit Gupta, an American professor argued that Peter Davison’s Doctor’s passion for cricket was a sign of the inherent racism in the programme
Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system! Stop! Stop! I'm being oppressed!
