The NSPGU has only made one change to the F50 squad for the tri-series finals:
NOW hear this. The selectors want to make one thing very clear: Ryan Harris has been dropped, not rested or even rotated, from the one-day side.
- Michael Clarke
- Shane Watson
- Dan Christian
- Xavier Doherty
- Peter Forrest
- Ben Hilfenhaus
- David Hussey
- Mike Hussey
- Brett Lee
- Clint McKay
- James Pattinson
- Matthew Wade
- Dave Warner
The squad for the West Indies F50 is the same as above, but also includes Klutzy Haddin, Lyon, Nathan and George Bailey.
I look forward to Patto being tried as our new death bowler. And failing, as all have done so before.

Film Australia have a ready made title in: "Death Bowler".

Or Bowl to the Death: The Return, then Bowl to the Death: A New Dawn.

Read this, you dogs.

You forgot to mention how much you are missing "Living with Footballers" from FF1, and wish that they'd given it another run.
And you weren't pulling the piss when you said you enjoyed Grumpy Old Men? Tedious. And I get the feeling that Paul Roos dislikes all teams other than Sydney, and whoever Ross Lyon is coaching.
Spud is doing a wonderful job typecasting himself as the village idiot. Even if he made something resembling a valid point, I just about disregard it on the basis of how he acts 90% of the rest of the time.

I guess Living With Footballers was cauterised from my mind. What an appalling load of tripe. At least the 10 minutes I once accidentally saw.

Not sure it is possible for Spud to make a valid point. How he managed three or four seasons as a league coach is well beyond my limited comprehension.

I love your websites

Ya notice how Matty Wade picked up the errant cricket bat? Bent over and gave it a good solid jab to the toe and then grabbed the handle when it popped up. It looked r.cool. Like a kid stepping on his skate board.
Disclaimer: The shape of modern ODI bats allow for this to be an efficient way of picking up a bat, kids 50 years ago would have done the same thing. Just sayin' that's all.

I hate your websites.

It looks like Straya are throwing the game, purely to spite India.
Which is a bit rough, given all that India have given to Strayn cricket this summer - the resurrection of Ponting and the end of Klutz being two of the gifts...

Question for chrisl the random question dude.
Do you rate John Emburey's outfield catch more than John Dyson's outfield catch?
Posted by: Big Ramifications | Friday, March 02, 2012 at 09:37 PM
Australia loses tonight and India get knocked out, which is a win. Australia wins tonight, which is a win.
Dyson's was a better catch.
Posted by: Tony | Friday, March 02, 2012 at 09:42 PM
Emburey's was a better "catch" but only coz he was a tubby fark who shoulda got into position earlier and had to resort tor a last moment one handed lunge. Dyson's was a better catch all round coz he did everything right and still needed to dive.

I like your thinking there, Biggy. Fluke v technical excellence.
Posted by: Tony | Friday, March 02, 2012 at 10:00 PM
As the third judge I have to agree with Big Rammer. Dyson's catch was formulaic snore fest.
Emburey's catch was a... *gets up and stands on desk*... TOUCHDOWN!

India is sitting in the bus at the airport, pending an appeal into tonight's result.

Delayed game is still being played in Free-To-Air Land on Chanel № 9, and I haven't checked for results. The Sris have just started bowling their 20th.
Had a buddy accidentally give me a spoiler regarding the hat trick a few hours ago gah.

Glenn McGrath's aerial effort - can't remember which match - was another example of the unathletic supercatch.

Ok Bigram . You seem to have answered your own random question... I'll go with Dyson because I can't recall the Embury catch.
Posted by: chrisl | Saturday, March 03, 2012 at 09:37 AM
MacLeay, caught Emburey, bowled Dilley.
Posted by: Tony | Saturday, March 03, 2012 at 09:49 AM
Lou, your link to McGrath's catch has a giant heading "*THE* GLENN MCGRATH MAGIC CATCH - GREATEST CATCH IN EXISTENCE 2002, vs ENGLAND". For the record, it was the Adelaide Test.

Embury .... fluke
Posted by: chrisl | Saturday, March 03, 2012 at 10:50 AM
Compare Ken Macleay's tonk with the leg-clearing swats of his modern counterparts. Macleay got a good piece of the ball and it was a clean hit, but the ball would have probably hit the fence on the full had Emburey not tin-arsed his interception. On the other hand, modern rocket fuelled bats would have easily sent the ball into the grandstand. (I think the WACA fence - not boundary - in 1986/87 is in the same spot as the WACA fence in 2011/12.)

I looked up the link after I wrote the text, TT.
Bit lazy of me not to sub-edit, but I never do that properly unless I'm paid for it.
It don't come natural.

Hairy Herath took an Emburey fluke today to get rid of Wade.

What a coincidence, eh? It's like I'm psychotic or something.
