Cummins caps rapid rise with Test call up
Teenager Pat Cummins's meteoric rise to stardom has continued after winning a shock call-up to the Test squad for the tour of South Africa.
Cummins replaces fellow youngster, Victorian James Pattinson, from the squad which toured Sri Lanka in August and September.
Test squad: Michael Clarke (c), Shane Watson (vc), Michael Beer, Trent Copeland, Patrick Cummins, Brad Haddin, Ryan Harris, Phil Hughes, Mike Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting, Peter Siddle
Surely this selection and omission will lure our own Pat out of hibernation.

Is anyone else really shocked by this though? And anyway, I'm happy with any squad that has a Steve Smith shaped hole in it.
I hope the fuss made over the Kid scares the living hell out of more experienced players. It might make Johnson bowl one less piece of crap an over.

I was thinking about Mitchell Johnson watching Quade Cooper strut his stuff against the All Blacks.

Conn on Cummins: "broke down with a stress-related hot spot in his back."

"shock call-up" -- not for the bookmaker who fixed the bracket selection, probably!
