The ticketing was an out-and-out debacle. The game was fully ticketed, probably because they expected a bigger crowd before it started pissing down, and got one only after it stopped. Thing was, the various sections of the ground were all different prices, but you couldn't find out how much until you arrived at the gate in question (or held up the queue discussing it with the vendor). The lowest price seats sold out, but there were whole bays of very slightly more expensive (much closer to the action) seats available at other gates, if they'd bothered to inform the public.

Both sides started well, lost momentum with the field spread and the spinners on, then rattled home. England just left their run too late, and lost wickets when they needed boundaries.
Watson's percentage of dot balls to deliveries faced, at 78.63%, was also far higher than any other successful batsman in the series. Strauss was nearest at 76.35%, Pietersen was, at 70.87%, the lowest. Significantly, Watto also featured in three run-outs.

While the differences between batters might not seem huge, they are significant.
Poms should've won that in 16 overs. Our batting was woeful aside from watto. Warner has been worked out. If it's not exactly in his zone, he can't work the ball. It would fit their 'model'. After all they made poor Mitchell Johnson get all confused about whether he was dropped or merely 'rested'. Like anyone is ever rested from a fecking Ashes test match.

Lemming never done anything before to lead me to think that he doesn't want to skipper the 20/20 team, and I assume later down the track, he'll want to start dipping his trotters into the IPL trough.

That will be harder for him now so I can't see why he would have so graciously retired in this manner in the real world.

I think for this case we'll have to assume that it does.
Tony commented on 'THE BASHES'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341cb34453ef0148c762dca8970c2011-01-07T12:29:53Z2011-01-07T12:29:53ZTonyhttp://aftergrogblog.blogs.com/cricket/Russ, now that you mention it... that's a pretty fair observation.
The promos for the Bashes have Watto and Pies on them, someone commented on this the other week, that you'd expect it to be Clarke. I think the decision to drop Clarke from the T20 was made weeks ago, they only announced it today to avoid the bad news (series loss).

Over the break a friend of mine compared CA to the Brumby government.
