CURTAINS?
There is no sadder site in cricket than a former colossus of the game, struggling for form, no longer able to achieve the incredible standards he's previously set himself.
LIGHTS
Cricket Australia has apologised to the South African team after a laser light was flashed at a fielder during last night's Twenty20 match at the Gabba.
Belated Update! The post make marginally more sense with the pictures correctly installed.
Nothing at all strange about how it should happen at a quicket game, the version of the game for kids, cretins, and those with short attention spans. In more than a few ways it draws parallels to the game of Soccer, and the clientele who attend it being more known for this sort of mischief.
Fortunately, we're not likely to see this sort of thing happen in the real game anytime soon. Hopefully.

Pretty sure it has happened at other events, but I can't remember which ones.
A student had one in one of my classes. I took it off him, but later when I was mucking around with it, I broke it. Very cheap and tatty, and cost next to rock all at a novelty shop.

The Sunday sports page will have a photo of Dave Warner playing club cricket for Eastern Suburbs on Saturday with the headline: Just A Suburban Boy.

Rich
If he fails to live up to his meteoric start (not an unreasonable prediction) the question will be: How long before that's all he is?

Haven't non subcontinental cricketers complained for many years about lights in their eyes from mirrors in the crowd and so on? Now they're blinded by the lucre and we can concentrate on Australian light wielding bogans instead.
