It's a commentator's prerogative to change his mind:
Spanky: "Makaya Ntini doesn't bowl well to left-handers."
Slinky Bongo: "But Peter, you wrote the other day that Ntini is the best bowler in the world to left-handers."
Spanky: "Well, I'm allowed to change my mind after three days."
Can't find where Spanky wrote it, mind, I really want to give him the benefit of the doubt - but you know how it goes ...
Hershy bowled. Great seed, Roy.

Tell me that Symonds hasn't just bolwed his way into another test match. Tell me it aint so.
Re-Spanky: Well, at least he's honest.

I think he might have, Saggs. And you're right about Spankles. Nothing worse than a commentator trying to slime out of a tight spot.
Slinky: "Nel and Boje must sink the saving ship."

Tony:
You seemed to admire Dean Jones despite him doing the same thing over and over during the Ashes. Reversing himself, I mean, not caning young men's buttocks.

True enough, Clem, Deano was excellent during The Ashes. That said, I'm pretty sure he never reversed himself within 10 seconds. Two minutes, minimum.
PS: If you reverse yourself over and over you would be doing the same thing only every second time. It's a small, and highly debatable point, but one I feel needs making.

Declaration likely just after lunch?!?
Somehow I can't see Punter only setting them 280, and leaving them 4.5 sessions to do it, even if they dug up the pitch and laid mines in it overnight. My tip - they'll be told to go for their shots, try to get say 350-400 up and put them in just after tea.

And the redemption of Symonds is complete. 52 of 40 odd with 5 sixes plus the first time he's ever looked dangerous with the ball.

tONE, you see who wrote that article - Toby Forage? Good grief! Is that a real name?
Mr Zed: Go Symmo! He's too good a cricketer not to persevere with.

That's a gutsy declaration. So gutsy in fact that I am now very nervous. I agree with Spanky, another 20 runs (I would have been happy at 390) would have left the Safas enough time to get em and enough runs for us to attack.
490 in Perth, 366 here with more time. I think Punter's had a brain explosion.

Biting my nails already, Pat. (What's left of them.) Doubtless you'll now see my latest post.
