That's how Jason Akermanis described the turf at Telstra Dome. It could also be used to describe Telstra Dome CEO Ian "Collo" Collins. Now, let's be frank. Collo has his head so far up his underground carpark it's staggering. I wouldn't let this bumbling uberdoufus run a meat raffle, (I might let him carry the tray. Just make sure you've got rugged footwear.) let alone a football stadium AND a football club. His responses to criticisms of problems falling under his control border on the laughable. Collo's response to a possible conflict of interest regarding his role as CEO of Telstra Dome and President of Carlton is "Well, I wouldn't do anything wrong!" But you could! "Well, I wouldn't. I'm honest!" When footy fans complain about long lines waiting to get into Telstra Dome his response is "Well, get there earlier!" Why? There's no curtain raiser. Well, come to our world class restaurants." We can't afford five dollars for a beer! "Well, I can't help that!" When Wayne Carey and James Hird criticised the playing surface at the Telstra No-dome he responded, Well, what would they know?" Yesterday he was At It Again.... Brisbane complained about the surface. Collo's response? "They didn't win, so is that a factor?" And on the radio, "Well, it's the same grass as the Gabba!" Well, big deal! You could sprinkle the grass on my kitchen floor. It's still a hard surface. What more to say than "Well, well, well."
When are the footy fans going to rise up against these nest-featherers. Collo's only one of many;
Evans, a commissioner while running Spotless Catering, McGuire's the bull goose of conflicts of interest, Cook down here at Geelong is a front-runner for Jacko's job after overseeing the disappearance of home games at Kardinia Park; before him was drunken Durham who sacked volunteers and put everyone else on a payroll so he could command a percentage salary. True fans should go on membership strike until the shonks are run out of the game. Wishful thinking.

And they're amazing Slatt in the way they continually maintain there's no problem. it's almost a mantra they chant....
"We good. We never do bad."
Yet they never offer up sustainable reasons WHY they should retain their positions in the face of incessant criticism.
"People complain. It's what they do. We've got a tough job. They should understand that."
Many in the media are compliant because they rey on favours from the footy hierarchy. Suck ups!
