tonee, way too slow,

At least we give you a much better pitch than bloody Melbourne.
fancy the Poms having a legspinner who gives it a rip and we have a mere off spinner. I agree with the late Sid Barnes. you can play them with a toothpick in Australia.

Philsgone

He caused more half chances than any other bowler, and more than Moeen has in the entire series. Ussie will be right tomorrow, lets hope its a big one. Smith of his game today. You can tell by the number of fieldsmen he picks out. He hits the gaps when in good form.

Patard

Well, that was the ton Our Uzzie would eventually get if you kept selecting him often enough.

Just like the Marsh Moochers.

Drop them all.

Patard

Bizarre that Slater and Clarke reckon Marsh missed the ball.

Definite mark on hotspot which correlated with snicko.

DRS has no choice but to overturn.

Patard

Oz target would be 600 for 250 run lead which at current run rate of 3 should get by mid 2nd session.

But 250 not good enough on this pitch.

Patard

Tones, by tea change I assume you are referring to children? How many is that now?

Big Ramifications

GOAT to do an AB and get 7/46.

Big Ramifications

Smarsh had a lowly batting average of an even 36 going into this series, and has improved it by ALMOST 5 RUNS to be at 40.87 after his unfortunate run out. Not a bad effort for someone who already had 42 Test innings under their belt.

Averaging 74.17 in 7 innings with only 1 not out will do that.

Patard

Huge turnabout by Smarsh, Rammers.

Would be great to see GOAT do an AB.

Great see him making the poms bowl through this brutal weather.

Damn, was hoping to see us with 700 on the board.

I am and will always be Not Trampis

good to see more comments.

Bloody hot in Sydanee today. How come we are swinging the ball more then the poms??

not convinced we will get many runs in the UK where the poms will have 5 seaming pitches. as Boycs reminded us smith has only hit tons tons overthere on flat tracks just like Warner.

Will Anderson keep going until then?

Patard

Well done to you Not Trampis and Philsgone for your undefeated partnership in holding up this blog through the hard slog of the god awful Melbourne Test.

50 degrees in Penrith. Hoowee. Cool change tonight though. 25 degrees. Gonna have to snuggle up.

Btw. We will never see the Marshes ever perform like this again, they'll do nothing in safrica and Our Uzzie will go back to his usual scintillating mid 20s to over-the-top praise from ABC Grandstand.

Philsgone

too hot to type

Philsgone

Tony Lives!!
This series has gone pretty much as I predicted.

Still too bloody hot here is Sydanee.

Antone who wishes to write about the Ashes when it finishes and wants it on a modest blog send it to me.

It is a good attack but the batsmen are flat track bullies.

If the Aardvarks produce seaming pitches It could well be very interesting particularly if AB magnificent bats!

2BarRiff

We're not going to bowl them out, are we?

I am and will always be Not Trampis

technical point. A throw which hits the wicket and disturbs the bails and/or bails is a bad throw. To run someone out you have to put the stumps and bails back in.on or take the stump out with the ball in hand. This is something beyond the knowledge of some umpires on the Big Bash rubbish!

Of course we will get them out.

P.S. Gave a 5 run penalty on Saturday for running on the wicket.

2BarRiff

Well, I guess I was technically right.

Good win in a 'meh' series. Hard to generate much enthusiasm as it went along, especially after Perth.

I am and will always be Not Trampis

Had my say on the Ashes. any comments are welcome at my illustrious site.

Philsgone

Phil-osophical question. 40 wickets fall in 3 days in Capetown. Is an Indian pitch designed for their team better for cricket than a South African pitch designed for their team. Or are they the same thing. Is it better to see the ball spin a metre and shoot along the ground or for it to bounce 2 metres and threaten the batsmans health. Discuss

Tony Tea

Poms took 53 out of 100 Aussie wickets. There's yer series right there.

Big Ramifications

Just did some ANALYSIS. Hope this all makes sense. Australian Test batting statistics - incumbents compared with replacements.

2 players replaced after the Bangladesh series, 1 replaced after the 2nd Ashes Test.

I am and will always be Not Trampis

Tonee,

The poms were never get us out twice in a test except in Adelaide. That was a test they should have won if they bowled well originally.

Philsgone

Ive just realised,; if the Poms had sent Root, it would have been no surprise. I mean, the country was started by exporting their convicts. Boom boom.

Philsgone

insert Stokes for Root in previous post. Not as funny now.

I am and will always be Not Trampis

ben there punched that

Big Ramifications

That was a melon scratcher of epic proportions, Philsgone.

Then I read your next comment. I LOLed.

Big Ramifications

Mark Wood = Wayne Holdsworth

Big Ramifications

WTF is this? 1985?

41 overs gawn and Australia is sub-5.5 an over?!

Big Ramifications

Moises > Stoinis

Big Ramifications

Stoinis brings up his 50 with my fave shot - the lofted leg glance. Yes baby, yes!

Philsgone

Can the poms do this in the world cup at home next year? Perhaps start with Zampa against Roy next game see how that goes. Well batted Mr Roy, the man with 2 christian names,
