A fine intro, well said.

This series has has context too with the World Cup ahead, though from memory last time we won the WC we had a shcokcing series leading in vs the kiwis so maybe form leading into the big tournament is nomentumish . Nah, i'll continue to tell myself the tri-series has context.

Tony Tea

Another reason I like the tri series is that it is less stressful than Test cricket.

Tony Tea

Morgland.

Professor Rosseforp

I like "affection-ado"! It's my current 2nd favourite to a Roar commentator who mentioned that a player was "jolly on the spot".

A Brave New World

I have no idea what the ultimate gist of your post is meant to import, Tones, love or hate, it's beyond me.

What I do know is I was all set to sink a six pack and was more than halfway through when the mrs couldn't get the DVD to play and cracked the shits, I couldn't get the fucker to work either, on PS3, XBox, Wii or the ten bazillion devices the boy left wired everywhere and then I cracked the shits, the girl went to her room and I ended up mowing the lawn till sunset.

Also trod through piles of dog shit, got a leech, plus a tick, ran over a few rocks and broke my blades.

One question: how come it's ok for a bloke to washup but there's something just not right about a woman mowing the lawn? If everything is so fair and equitable how come it's ok for *me* to do the dishes but I feel like I've broken the first law of the gods should the mrs get the ear muffs on and face visor and mow the lawn? Not that she did. But I pondered that as I waded through the lantana wishing I had a machete.

Well done, Davey Boy. Breezing this one through. Does this series have any *real* significance?

Tony Tea

The gist(s): 1) I like the tri-series; but 2) I dislike the Nine commentators.

A Brave New World

Agreed, then.

By crikey we are making this win look a close run thing.

Cameron

Crucial to get the bonus point in a competition of this importance.

Tony Tea

Lucky Michael Bevan Faulkner and his brilliantly accumulated 8 were there to get us home.

Cricinfo headline for the SA v WI ODI series: 'SA, WI seek World Cup momentum'

A Brave New World

Whoever has the most momentum going into the World Cup will win.

m0nty

I am just shuddering at the day when Klutzy joins the commentary box. They love him up there, JB will tongue kiss him during every Luncheon Adjournment Show.

Tony Tea

The Clumsy One's comment to an Indian batsman that Smith sometimes bowls an unplayable ball, it's just that no one knows when it's coming was probably an audition.

Big Ramifications

Gurinder Sandshoe is a BIG UNIT!

A Brave New World

Yeah, seeing him an that post wicket huddle he seemed like a giant amongst the munchkins. Starc is even taller.

A Brave New World

Cummins is 1.92m, Sanhu 1.94m and Starc 1.96m.

Cummins has been averaging about 145km/h and Sandhu 135km/h. Not sure what Starc has been going at.

Big units all 'round.

Big Ramifications

Big units agree!

"WHAT?! Speak English you fucker. Speak English! Speak English!"

-Dave Warner

Regarding the to-do after the overthrow run just a few minutes ago. That's how I lip read it.

philsgone

A megalitre is a big unit. A bloke who 1.9m is tall.

Tony Tea

1.9 metres tall? Pah. Shortarse.

philsgone

Pat Cummins is the grandson of a good friend of my mother. Brush wih fame - 3 degrees of seoparation?

Big Ramifications

Sandshoe is a BIG UNIT. I was talking volume, it was ABNW who focused on the heights of various players. And we all know about people who like tall men.

m0nty

Speaking of brushing with fame, I have met TT and he is a big unit however you measure your units.

Tony Tea

Who am I to disagree with someone with Monty's exquisite judgement.

m0nty

TT is such a big unit that one must use Imperial units to describe him. It's hard to fathom, but try walking a furlong in his plimsolls.

Cameron

Channel 9 has banished the Ind v Eng game to it's HD channel.

Big Ramifications

I'm old enough to remember the tonne. But it disappeared from the vernacular 1-2 years after I first learnt it.

Also, I seem to recall a British "billion" being 1,000,000 × 1,000. And coz we still had a British-heavy school syllabus, that was the first definition of "billion" I was taught.

I remember that too, Ramekins. One Americanism which kind of makes more sense.

Tony Tea

Rubbish Binny.

Tony Tea

How's this for a brilliant ODI pitch. More please.
