End scrutiny? No chance. Once a bowler is cited for chucking, the scrutiny will only increase. (Except by Channel Nine.)
Bird's 'doubtful' action leads to scrutiny
NSW hopes a biomechanical analysis of paceman Aaron Bird, likely to be released within a week, will end scrutiny of his "unusual" bowling action.
Especially when the bowler has previously been cited four times:
"We've gone through it four times before with Aaron and he's passed with flying colours every time so we're very confident he's going to pass again," Mott said.
"We know he's got an unusual action but by the letters of the law that we're given he passes every test quite comfortably and we're very confident he's going to get through again."
I saw those comments, and couldn't believe anyone would be willing to back him for the 4th time, or play him in his debut first class game.
What happened to the good old days when someone had a dodgy action and no one ever talked to him again. Like Troy Corbett.

Or Greg Rowell.

Rowell had a face worse than that, unsuccessful politician.
Neither Rowell or Corbett were ever called. Last Australian to be called in a match was Geoff Foley, and boy was he a chucker.

*fate, although his face wasn't that good either.

I have called bowlers for chucking and indeed was not allowed to umpire when I made it clear I would call bowlers from our own club but in a different team whom we were playing.
Now I am coaching Adults frequently will not see blatant chucking by boys even when it is pointed out in the most euphemistic fashion.
It is a blight on the game and chuckers have an advantage.
Fast chuckers get greater lift and cut ( Charlie Griffiths was the best example of this).
slow chuckers also get this. Murali and formerly the Harbarnator ( not now) used to get a lot of wickets caught at leg slip.

Notice that Aaron Bird has been reorted again during NSW recent game (pantsing) aginst WA? You'd wonder what it will take before he gets the message, and how often he can be selected only to be reported again.
