From the SMH:

"Cricket fans missed out on seeing the first session of the 2001 Ashes tour of England on free-to-air TV after Seven decided the news and Home and Away were more important.

Nine also landed in hot water in 1997 when it refused to show the first Ashes session live".

I'm sorry free to airs, you have had your chance and you have uncatagorically fucked up. I can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with Stacky and Jim Maxwell.

Any journalist that chases a quote from Neil Fuckin Harvey is a tosser.

I'd only pay to see Neil Harvey play. A Hero.

You're probably right about the benefits for subscribers. But it's sad for all of us non-payers (and proud of it) who will have to seek out a friendly Local somwhere.

Oh well, down the nearest pub for those who don't want to hand over their dollars to the corporate machine. Me ? i'd probably pay just about anything to watch cricket on the 'box' but i can understand those who refuse- and quite right too.

ps- home & away is probably marginally more interesting than watching England bat.
