os

he's not a "local" ... he's from the West ... that's why they turn on him, the bastards.

os

Mind you, he was bowling tripe.

Tony.T

There you have it, Os. Two reasons to bag him.

os

Tsk tsk Tone ... I'm from the west and I bowl tripe ... I ask you, would you bag me?

I'm looking forward to Warnie coming back (even though he's a Victorian) because he's the best, he makes things happen and it'll be one in the eye for that mob which tried to see him off for purportedly sending an SMS to the hairy back sheila.

And bugga me, now Henry Lawson talks about how the crowd enjoyed Katich's century, "the local boy" he called him.

Brett Pee

Why have the munchers batted on? We should easily survive the last day. Thanks for not enforcing the follow-on.I am also from the West but bowl pearlers- McGillers is becoming a " 2 full bungers an over but i'm in the side till Warnie returns " merchant.

Tony.T

Yeah, but you don't talk it, Os. And I agree. Warnie is much more "in your face" than MacGill. It's the the key to winning any sport. I often cite him in parallel with Botham. Beefy wasn't a great bowler but he used to take a lot of wickets purely by "muscling up" to the batsmen.

Sho' nuff, Brett. An "interesting" declaration.

Brett Pee

.....Which we survived without any fuss. God himself may have played his last but Michael Hussey is ready to step into his shoes. No hint of Western bias intended.

Tony.T

Rather David Hussey.

Brett Pee

But now , i think, is the time for the "Wollongong Warrior", Phil Jaques, to deffo get a chance for Straya. He's 23 and scored shed loads of runs in 1st class cricket in England. Which means something surely??!!

Tony.T

Who's Phil Jaques?

Brett Pee

A New South Wales left hand bat. Roebuck rates him. I've also read that Bob Willis say's Poms will win on their next Ashes tour. Yeah...i need a good laugh mate.Apparently Steve Harmison, Jim Anderson and Simon Jones are going to do us in.Jones is going to do a Harold Larwood on us-he says. From what i've seen of Jones he's more Harold Bishop than Harold Larwood. And you must know Jaques...near your neck of woods.

Tony.T

I ran him through Cricinfo and didn't get a bite. Must be doing something wrong.

And I wouldn't write off England's chances. Good line on the Harold Bishop though. Even though Jones broke down in the Brizzy test.

Brett Pee

I believe Jaques can be found on:- https://www.cricket.org It's cricinfo- baggy green. Made his debut v Quennsland 15/3/2001. BUT gorged himself on runs in Pomland. Mind you- i could probably do that.

Tony.T

Found it....

Average 45. Not bad. Why is Cric info so hard to navigate? And it seems to change all the time. Or is it just me?

Brett Pee

I have to say it could be you mate, sorry. I know cricinfo like the back of the proverbial hand.

Tony.T

It just doesn't seem to work for me. Dunno why.

Brett Pee

twiddling with wrong knobs mate.

Tony.T

There's always that upside.
