Six Degrees Of Execration.
Well-posted dear T.

so he's a POM then?

First read it in the Good Weekend profile a couple of weeks ago. She was in Cecil B DeMille's 1940 Samson and Delilah with Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr. Malcolm just can't seem to lay his hands on the jawbone of an ass to slay Philistines when he needs it.

Actually dear Lad Litter, this whole fuss could do with a Hedy Lamarr to spice it up.

Tony: have you connected Godwin to Ric yet?

LL: It mightn't have the right meaning, but if there was ever a phrase that looked right for politics, "jawbone of an ass" is it.

B: Coincidentally, just last night I was talking about all the Grechs I know. I didn't mention anyone specific even though Ric and Mick (a bloke I used to work with who was a serial studio audience member) leaped straight to mind.

Raymond Postgate - creator of the Clangers (amongst other essential kids TV programmes in the early 70's) and lifelong socialist. A God in my eyes!

An academic as a mother? That's gotta hurt.

"Anagrams for 10, Mr Harwood."

Sorry, I can't say the word "academic" without blurting that out.

If you were on It's Academic you had to use your noggin... SEGUE!!! Jeez, Mark, I reckon you're the only British blogger who didn't blog about Postgate's death last year. Where's the solidarity, brother? He died on December 8, the same day as, Robert Prosky, Slim Pickens, among others.

Utegate... Camillagate... Monicagate... Rathergate... facking Gabriel Gaté.

Drives me facking nuts. As far as I can recall, Irangate was the first [and still one of the most cringe worthy].

Watergate was the first, clownshoes.

Hyphengate: should there be one in cringe-worthy? Or hyphen-gate?
