But I can't really think of many shows that crossed genres before the likes of Hill Street Blues.
The Green Man commented on 'DO THE METH'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341cb34453ef00e554df1a1788332008-09-04T02:43:44Z2008-09-04T02:43:44ZThe Green ManHmmm well I haven't seen Breaking Bad - maybe when it's on spesh at JB HiFI in about 6 months?...
Hmmm well I haven't seen Breaking Bad - maybe when it's on spesh at JB HiFI in about 6 months?

I did enjoy season 1 of Weeds though (quelle surprise) although that was mainly due to the fabulous Mary Louise Parker although a couple of the supporting cast (notably Elizabeth Perkins) do a good job too.

As well as the naughty-but-nice subject matter it seems to be another in an increasingly long line of TV series to mix drama and comedy (dramedy??) in almost equal doses.

No it's not exceptional must-see TV but is enjoyable to me nevertheless for the previously mentioned reasons.

One thing that did surprise me was not so much the plot line of a suburban Mum selling pot, but the regular instances of under-age sex and dope smoking and also numerous instances of adults puffing away in front of teenagers.

You could imagine that these acts might be portrayed along with a stern (or even slight) admonition to viewers that such happenings are a no no - but they aren't.

Ahh well... there's always MLP, even though I'm glad I don't have her for a Mum.
