Big deal. If you're so confident, wear it bowling in a match.
Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is to use an elbow brace to prove that his doosra delivery is not thrown.
The International Cricket Council, who meet in London this week, have banned his doosra -- the leg-spinner with an off-break action -- effectively until February next year while doubts about his action are assessed.
Muralitharan opted out of Sri Lanka's tour of Australia and has arrived for a short visit to England with a temporary brace while a more permanent one is developed at home.
The Sri Lankan has agreed to play for an International XI with Courtney Walsh, the previous Test wicket record-holder, against Min Patel's Kent team at Shenley Park in Hertfordshire today.
The elbow brace would not be worn during a match, but it allows Muralitharan to demonstrate his doosra at any time within the permitted five per cent flex.
